Is Holy Schmitt's horseradish kosher?

Yes, Holy Schmitt's is Kosher, certified by OK KOSHER.

 

Do I need to refrigerate horseradish before it is opened?

Yes the horseradish always need to be kept refrigerated.

 

Is the horseradish local?

Yes, all of the horseradish is home grown and home made at Schmitt Farms.

 

How long does it take for horseradish to grow?

It takes about a year to get a full crop of horseradish. We plant it at the end of April - beginning of May and harvest it the following year about a month before Passover.

 

Is horseradish good for you?

Is the horseradish made fresh?

Yes the horseradish is always made fresh.  Fresh horseradish is prepared 3-4 days a week, every week to guarantee the freshest product possible.

 

Can I put horseradish in the freezer?

Yes horseradish can be froze, if it all won't be used right away freezing it can help to keep the heat in the horseradish longer than it would in a refrigerator.

 

What do I use horseradish with?

Everything! It goes great with all meats, seafood, cheese and crackers, deviled eggs, egg sandwiches, Bloody Marys, on top of any sandwich, burgers, hot dogs, on salads mixed with some lemon juice, anything that you want to add a little kick to and doing it in a healthy fashion.

Our original recipe from my grandfather is horseradish, vinegar, sugar and salt.  

 

How many flavors are there?
